David George Salisbury 83, passed away March 16, 2021 on his own terms after suffering years with mental illness. He was born January 21, 1938 to Marius and Lucile Salisbury. He grew up in Seattle and Los Angeles. He served an LDS mission to the Southern States and then made his home in Utah where he attended and graduated from BYU and met Kay Pettey. They were married on September 8, 1962 in the Manti Temple. David taught Junior High for 4 years. He then changed careers and went into sales with General Electric where he worked for 30 years. Eventually he owned and operated his own business retiring in 2020 after 13 years. David had many passions in life. He loved fly fishing, hunting, hiking, golfing and food, especially pastries. He had a great love of animals and the outdoors. He instilled that love in his children and grandchildren. Time spent in these activities with his family and friends brought him the most happiness his illness would allow. Despite his O.C.D., he was able to raise and provide for his family, travel the world, have a successful career and share his unusual yet unforgettable sense of humor. David was blessed with many loyal, lifelong friends for whom his family is grateful; who loved, understood and accepted him for who he was. To know him was to love him.
David is survived by his loving, uncommonly devoted sweetheart Kay, children: Lauri (Tom) English, Jill (Patrick) VanDongen, Tanya (Todd) Paul, Scott (Michelle) Salisbury, Steven (Nicole) Salisbury, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Carol VanWagoner and a box of warm Crumbl cookies.
